Spotts Fain proudly announces attorney Clay Hester was named a 2023 Virginia Lawyers Weekly “Up & Coming Lawyers”.

This award recognizes attorneys who have excelled in the profession and are standouts among their peers — all in their first 10 years of practice. These lawyers have been making a name for themselves and displaying the determination and accomplishments that establish them as future leaders.

Clay is a commercial litigator with experience representing clients in various matters in state and federal court, including complex contract and business disputes, construction litigation, employment litigation, and intellectual property litigation. Clay regularly works with clients to resolve disputes efficiently outside of the courtroom. He has experience serving as lead counsel in mediation, arbitrations, and settlement negotiations. In addition, Clay is experienced in conducting and managing complex discovery involving electronically stored information.

Clay is licensed to practice in both Virginia and North Carolina. Before joining Spotts Fain, he practiced with a firm in North Carolina that served as national and regional counsel to clients in the trucking and aviation industries.
