Jen West Named in Virginia Lawyers Weekly 2026 Influential Women of Law Circle of Excellence
Congratulations to Spotts Fain President, Shareholder and attorney Jen West who was named as a Virginia Lawyers Weekly 2026 Influential Women of Law "Circle of Excellence" recipient. The Circle of Excellence recognizes influential women attorneys and judges in Virginia who have previously won "Influential Women of Law" awards and continue to demonstrate leadership and contributions to the legal profession. This elite group, inaugurated in 2024, honors seasoned practitioners for their sustained high achievement and impact on the Virginia legal community.
Jen has built a distinguished legal career marked by leadership and recognition across Virginia’s legal community. Since graduating from The College of William & Mary’s Marshall-Wythe School of Law in 2001, Jen has practiced law in Richmond for more than two decades, concentrating on creditors’ rights, commercial litigation, bankruptcy, insolvency, workouts and foreclosure matters - representing banks and other lending institutions with skill and integrity.
Her commitment to the legal community and probono work is evident in the many roles she has served within professional organizations, including her long-standing involvement on the board of the Richmond Bar Association, of which she is serving as President in 2025-2026 bar year, and leadership positions with various Virginia State Bar committees focused on lawyer discipline and bankruptcy law. In 2019, she was appointed to the Panel of Chapter 7 Trustees for the Eastern District of Virginia, Richmond Division, where she administers assigned Chapter 7 cases and oversees important aspects of federal bankruptcy proceedings. In recognition of her longstanding career, she has repeatedly been honored by Best Lawyers in America, Super Lawyers, Chambers USA and Virginia Business Legal Elite. Jen was also inducted as a Fellow of the Virginia Law Foundation - an honor that highlights lawyers who embody civic-minded service and leadership in the Commonwealth.
These accomplishments underscore her commitment to professional leadership and community engagement, reflecting Jen’s belief in using her legal talents to advance justice, support her fellow attorneys, and lead with purpose across the broader legal profession.
