Spotts Fain law firm is pleased to announce that Howard P. Estes, Jr. has joined the firm's business section, where he will serve as Head of the Public Finance Group. Before joining the firm, Estes was a principal of Estes & Associates in Richmond.

Estes' legal practice has focused on business transactional work and on local government representation, including serving as county attorney and local bond counsel. Mr. Estes also represents businesses, trade groups and associations on regulatory and legislative matters. In 2010, Governor Bob McDonnell appointed Mr. Estes to serve on his Commission for Government Reform and Restructuring.

"We are delighted to welcome another experienced business lawyer to our firm. Howard brings to Spotts Fain many years of experience representing local governments and financial institutions in complex public finance transactions. Since 1988, our firm's growth has been dictated by our clients' needs. This addition is no exception," said Spotts Fain President Meade A. Spotts.

"As my practice has developed over the years, my clients' business interests have also expanded. This combination will allow me to continue to focus on my corporate and local government clients, offering them additional services and expertise, while also developing new relationships with the firm's clients," said Estes. "Spotts Fain's reputation in the corporate finance and government relations arena made this an excellent fit for me and for my clients."
