Spotts Fain PC is a business and litigation law firm focused on advising, counseling and representing businesses in transactional and litigation matters.  Since its inception in 1988, the firm has grown steadily to meet the needs of its clients, currently employing thirty-one attorneys licensed to practice in Virginia, the District of Columbia, North Carolina and Texas. We serve as lead counsel and local counsel in Virginia state courts and federal courts.

April 14, 2008 - Robert J. Allen has joined the firm as an associate in the Irvington Office. He will focus his practice on business law, complex real estate and civil litigation.

April 9, 2008 - Dana D. McDaniel has been appointed Chair of the Spotts Fain Litigation Section. Mr. McDaniel is an intellectual property litigator and mediator with more than 23 years of experience.

April 1, 2008 - Michael James Rothermel has been elected a Shareholder and Director of the firm. Mr. Rothermel joined Spotts Fain in 2000 and has built a thriving practice specializing in zoning and land use, commercial real estate and administrative law.

April 1, 2008 - M. F. Connell Mullins, Jr. has been elected an Officer and Director of the firm. Mr. Mullins joined the firm in 2003 and has become an accomplished litigator focused on commercial and business litigation, products liability and toxic tort defense, as well as intellectual property litigation.

March 31, 2008 - Spotts Fain is proud to support the Central Virginia Food Bank by participating in the 2nd Annual Legal Food Frenzy.  Food and cash donations will be accepted at our Richmond office through April 11, 2008.

January 2008 - Shareholder and Director, Henry N. Ware, Jr. has been elected Chair of the Virginia Bar Association's Civil Litigation Section.

January 2008 - Hugh M. Fain, III has been elected to serve on the Board of Governors of the Virginia Bar Association.  Mr. Fain is a shareholder and Managing Director of the firm.  

December 2007 - Spotts Fain is proud to have five attorneys named in the Virginia Business Legal Elite for 2007. The Legal Elite is an annual list of top lawyers in a variety of specialties as voted on by their peers.  Dana D. McDaniel was named in the Intellectual Property category, Hugh M. Fain, III in Civil Litigation, Mary E. Davis in the Young Lawyer category, Meade A. Spotts in Legislative, Regulatory and Administrative and Stephen G. Reardon in Business/Healthcare.  

September 2007 - Spotts Fain is pleased to announce that John Anderson has been recognized by The Virginia Bar Association as a VBA Community Servant for dedicated efforts to provide valuable service to the community during the year 2006.

September 2007 - Spotts Fain is pleased to announce that Meade Spotts has been recognized by The Virginia Bar Association as a VBA Pro Bono Servant and VBA Community Servant for dedicated efforts to provide pro bono publico legal services to those who cannot afford counsel and for providing valuable service to the community during the year 2006. 

August 2007 - Spotts Fain is pleased to announce that Dana D. McDaniel has been named in the 2007-2008 edition of Best Lawyers in America under the Intellectual Property category.

July 2007 - Spotts Fain is proud to have three lawyers named in the 2007 Virginia Super Lawyers Magazine. For the second year in row, three of Spotts Fain's shareholders were named in the 2007 inaugural issue of Virginia Super Lawyers Magazine. Meade Spotts was named in the Real Estate category, Hugh M. Fain, III in Civil Litigation and Dana D. McDaniel, Intellectual Property Litigation.
