David V. DuVal

David DuVal's practice includes all areas of commercial real estate with a focus on the representation of national retailers in the acquisition and leasing of store locations throughout the United States. His work includes preparation and negotiation of ground leases, build to suit, reverse build to suit and sale leaseback transactions. In addition, he has extensive experience in representing hotel operators and developers in the acquisition/disposition of existing hotels as well as the acquisition of development sites for new hotel projects. He has also represented numerous regional developers in the acquisition and development of retail "big box" shopping centers and mixed use projects; including handling the closing of the construction and permanent financing for these types of projects as well as formation of the business entities for the developers. In addition to his real estate work, David regularly represents community banks in loan transactions to commercial borrowers. His work includes the review of due diligence information and preparation of loan documents on behalf of the lender.

Off the Clock

Outside of the office David enjoys spending time at Virginia Beach relaxing on the beach with his family and fishing every chance he gets. He also enjoys playing golf and watching his son’s high school and showcase baseball teams’ games.
