Swansboro Children Visit National Zoo

Swansboro Children Visit National Zoo

May 16, 2006 - On a beautiful spring morning in Richmond, the kindergarten class of Swansboro Elementary School in Richmond boarded a bus to Washington, D.C. to visit the National Zoo. In years past almost half the class could not attend because of the $40 student fee. Today, every child in the kindergarten grade level was on the bus to DC. Spotts Fain has partnered with a wonderful organization based here in Richmond called Children, Incorporated to fund a grant for the kindergarten class at Swansboro. Among other things, that money has been used to supplement or, in some cases, cover the student fee for the trip to Washington. Said Dana McDaniel, Children, Incorporated board member and Spotts Fain Shareholder, "I wish you could have seen them." Dana was on hand as the children boarded the bus. He also visited the class and heard from the children how excited they were to see all the animals in the zoo.

If you are interested in learning more about Children Incorporated, you can visit its web site at www.children-inc.org. (a new site is set to launch in the next week or two). Dana commented, "These folks do amazing things all over the world, and now, with our help, right here in Richmond. The Spotts Fain Swansboro grant is just another reason we should all feel proud to be part of this incredible firm."
