Matt Yanovitch joined Spotts Fain in 2008 as an associate practicing in the business section of the firm. He was admitted to practice in Virginia in 2007. Matt received his B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Virginia in 1999 and his J.D. from the Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law in 2007, where he was a staff member of the Catholic University Law Review. Following law school, Matt served as a law clerk to the Honorable William D. Hamblen of the Thirty-First Judicial Circuit of Virginia.
Before embarking on his legal career, Matt served as a professional firefighter for the City of Charlottesville from 2000 to 2004. His volunteer community service includes eight years as an emergency medical technician with the Charlottesville-Albemarle Rescue Squad, where he served as a member of the board of directors and held various leadership positions including deputy chief of operations. He also volunteered with the Manchester Volunteer Rescue Squad from 1994-1999.
