Brian R. M. Adams

Brian Adams represents clients in a wide range of commercial litigation matters with an emphasis on construction litigation, business disputes and breach of contract matters. He has handled a number of cases involving charges under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) physical barriers and access codes and access to public accommodations provisions. Brian is experienced in handling federal litigation on the Rocket Docket of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia as well as in state circuit courts throughout the Commonwealth. He also has successfully enforced his clients' rights in federal and state court appellate matters as well as in arbitration proceedings.

After graduating magna cum laude from Amherst College in 1983, Brian spent several years working in New York City on the business side of a large, multi-national advertising and public relations firm. While attending the T.C. Williams School of Law at The University of Richmond, Brian served as the Managing Editor of the University of Richmond Law Review, where he was also published.

Brian is active in the Richmond community. He is active in the Masons and is a Past President of the Downtown Richmond Civitan Club.  He also serves on the boards of several non-profit civic organizations both as a board member and as legal counsel.  Professional associations include the Virginia State Bar Construction Law Section, the Virginia State Bar Military Law Section, the Richmond Bar Association, the Henrico County Bar Association and the Virginia Creditors Bar Association.  Additionally, Brian serves as a Captain and Deputy Staff Judge Advocate in the Judge Advocate General (JAG) Corps of the Virginia Defense Force, Commonwealth of Virginia Department of Military Affairs, reserve to the Virginia Army National Guard.
